What can I use to cover or fade acne scars?

Try papaya soap. It works great for acne.I have very oily skin, but since this soap can be drying it helps control it. My scars were lightened in a week and acne was reduced within days. You can sonethimes find papaya soap in asian supermarkets or online.

I would use a green tinted concealer, I have one from No.7 and it's like a grass green colour- you put it on scars/spots etc.and neutralises awkward tones and scars ready to put foundation on ♡x

I am the same skin type & have acne marks but I've been exfoliating every other night with Dark Angels by Lush & then applying Loreal Youth Code scar fader & it's definitely helped. I also do the baking soda & lemon mask every few days. It takes a few months but you'll see a difference. Also if you pop pimples like me, stop!
