Spray heat protectant not only will it cure smell it will protect your hair. I recommend tressume has some good and cheap heat protectant.

I've never had this happen. Yipes! I use a CHI cream protectant combed fully through before I blow dry. Perhaps you should try reducing the temp? As for odor, I use Pink Sugar Hair Perfume which has a sweet, cotton candy/vanilla light scent that lingers without being overpowering or competing with lotions..other scents. Good luck. :)

Also, clean the curling iron or straightener you've been using. Maybe there's product on the iron that's causing the smell when it gets heated up.

No problem! Burnt hair smells usually stem from over use of a tool or not enough protectant! It can literally ruin your hair so maybe try different product, give your hair a rest, and use a nice leave in conditioner like Aussie 3 minute miracle to repair damage!
