You could use a serum such as John Frieda to stop it going frizzy, and use a heat defence spray, like Tresemme :)

Have you ever used mousse? They even have straightening ones but really any will do. Most people overload and use Strickly for scrunching and holding hair in place as if its gel and most cases when to much is used its gross hard and sticky. Used properly dime sized amount on wet hair than straighten and spray for finish should last a lot longer.

I know it isn't the most healthy you could do to your hair, but I had the same problem once. Each night after I have been in the shower, I dry my hair so it goes straight, then I use my straightner (with heat protection added) and then when I'm done I use some hair Oil in the tips so it doesn't dry out. I sleep with it and when I wake up it is still straight (a but slept on) but I straighten it once more to make it totally straight. I don't use any products to make it hold. I just go out that way. It is straight the whole day :-)
