Hi ladies I just started college for my beauty diploma and our uniform actually includes how we wear our hair and makeup, so I usually use maybelline dream mate mousse or the liquid one depending if my skins oily or not, then I go over it with maybelline 24 hour matte powder but its not lasting me the 8 hours I need it to! any recommendations? abd preferably if its available to buy in Australia..

I love loreals magic nude liquid to powder foundation, it has really buildable coverage and sets but stays a little slick to the touch so it does need a little setting powder or if you do like a doey finish a setting spray will do the trick (I use both a powder and spray because I have rather oily skin, so keep that in mind)

Try using a primer if you don't already and a setting spray. (Setting spray can cause a dewy makeup effect, just warning you before you buy one and really actually want a matte finish)

@megan it could just be the foundation reacting to your skin. everyone s skin is different. I use revlon color stay and I love it. I can go all day with out primer or powder and my skin stays looking good. no smudge makeup. a lil shine but looks natural.

Have you ever head of the tattoo foundation sophera offers? really is the best but pricey too. you can buy online. cheaper alternatives that I use are cover girl oily skin or regular depending on you're skin.

Also the key is not really just liquid foundation its literally... primer... if needed concealer which in my opinion no matter what skin you have you should use it under you're eyes a generous amount so you're face seems brighter... than liquid foundation... and last a powder foundation. no its or butts its the best and really only way to make it last gracefully. but one tip and I don't overly recommend for obvious reasons.. if I'm in a rush and I can only do one set of whatever foundation I please I lightly from a arm distance spray hair spray (the light spray ones of coarse!) too my face it really does polish and make it last but again my skin doesn't break out easily or dry.. pretty neutral and I don't do it very often and from an arms length.

BareMinerals or Liz Earle foundation is amazing. As a mattifying powder, you could use BareMinerals mineral veil, it's amazing.

I use:
- Smashbox Photofinish Primer
- Urban Decay NAKED Foundation
- Smashbox Halo to set it
And my makeup will all stay on for 10 hours, like yesterday.
