I wanted to start using eye cream but I have no where to start. I'm 19 years old which eye cream should I use to prevent wrinkles?

At your age a good moisturizing eye cream combined with a daily spf. cereve makes a great hydrating one. when you hit your mid 20s then start looking into retinol eye serum.

I'd use a retinal product as retinal is an ingredient in creams that are actually prescribed because it's effective. I would highly suggest using one in conjunction with a good moisturizing product. I just turned 19 and have smile lines due to dry skin and the sun. They sort of just stayed there. I tried to just use moisturizer but it didn't help. It made it more obvious as the shine from the moisturizer made the depth of the lines look deeper. Using a drugstore retinal product would be the best thing as they are lower in the ingredient. Retinal is not age restricted, I think it's just the amount

I bet you don't have actual wrinkles but just dried out skin that is folding and showing where future wrinkles will be if you don't take care now. I'd skip the harsh stuff(if you do, definitely use heavy sunscreen for every second of daylight exposure or you will age faster. Retinol strips off outer layer if skin) I would look for hylaluronic Acid in an eye cream. It's gentle and retains moisture so it will smooth out lines. I swear mario Badescus hylaluronic eye cream is a miracle worker and you get a ton of product for $20. They sell it at ulta. I started using an eye cream day and night at your age and have less wrinkles than everyone I know that is my age,32.

I agree with Mary, at that age you don't need a retinol. You should be trying to prevent signs of aging by moisturizing and staying out of the sun and using a sunscreen at all times. Retinol really strikes me as something that you would use AFTER the fact for serious wrinkles. I'm on a retinol/retin-a type cream for acne and I would never ever dream of putting anything like it, even if intended for the eye area, near my eyes simply because it is SO DRYING and harsh. Take care now and your skin will thank you later. Also, even if you do take care, there will be wrinkles when you're older that you can't control. It's all just part of aging, not much we can do about it except try to prevent it and be kind to our skin. Although even if wrinkles weren't an issue we should always be taking care of our skin to begin with.

I'm sorry I have to disagree retinol is no way near as drying as retin A And you definitely do not wait till the wrinkles are there to start and they are expression lines from repetitive movement smiling and any facial expressions and 19 is definitely not to young ,use of retinol should be done throughout your life if you don't want to be trying to reverse signs of aging instead of fighting them, retinol nowadays is gentle and encapsulated and time released unlike Retin A which is one quick hit of it and causes peeling flakey dry sensitive skin retinol is no way near as harsh on your skin and if one girl uses it from the time she is 20 to 40 and another starts at 30 to 40 the 30 year old will have wrinkles that could have been prevented

Mina, I don't know if you are a tanner...but skip the tanning salons if you do, wear sun screen always even in the winter (tinted cream or moisturizer with SPF in it in the fall/winter). And even with sun screen be careful how much sun you really are getting. Pay attention to your skin care products. Use what works best for you! I exfoliate daily with a light exfoliate product, nothing harsh. I use ponds brand cream or Loreal face products. My fave is Estée Lauder's line of skin care w/ SPF. If you can't afford dept. brands, stick to what you can afford! Try drinking lots more water, add multi-vitamins daily and add more fruits/vegi's to your diet. I'm not an expert... But I'm 35 and can pass for someone who is 23-26 years old (most of the time ;) ) because of my skin care regiment!! :) good luck girl!!

I'm on a retinol and have played around with retin a in the past. Retinol is far less weaker than retin a. I'm 40 and I'm taking baby steps to introduce my skin to retin a by using retinol. So I agree with Traci's assessment of both products. I have no. hardcore aging of my skin but I've been using products for years to lessen/slow the growth of premature aging (aging in general). At 40 I still get carded and told that I look 25...50% is due to my skincare and the other 50% eating healthy/exercise.
