I have "chicken skin " ( can't remember the technical name ) but just watched an episode on gluten allergies and the 5 symptoms. Did not realize it would affect your skin. I was diagnosed in December with Celiac Disease ( gluten intolerance). Explains why no matter what I tried it wasnt going away.
Just thought I would share.

Hi Tiffany! One of my best girlfriends also has Celiaco, although she doesn't have chicken skin but the nerves in her stomach trouble her off and on. Is there a special diet you follow? I would like to know if you take any special precautions apart from the doctor recommended ones, thank you. It is really thoughtful of you to post, I will Google this article and read it too. Thanks once again!

Thanks Ame. Since I just recently got diagnosed its been difficult to change my diet. I have had to read every label of food I buy. Its so hard to go out to eat as well since I am the only person in my family with this. Right now I just try to eat fruits and vegetables. I will be slowly starting to eat gluten free breads soon as well as making my own food with gluten free rice flour. Its been difficult since I have always loved breads and pastas and have found very few options if products ready to eat that are gluten free.

Yes I totally understand. A lot of foods would just be labeled gluten free but worsened her nerves so you have to be careful, especially since she's in Venezuela where gluten free can be hard to find. We are putting up every possible fight with her, but she has to be taken to the ER because of the nerves often, for her, that is accompanied by depression too. But on easier days we eat rice crisps and she jokes about it, all of us. I wish you good luck.

KP (Chicken Skin) benefits from regular exfoliation. DermaDoctor KP duty has a scrub and cream that is highly effective. I believe both Ulta and Sephora carry it.

Thanks Rozberry. I will look into it soon. Money is super tight for me for the next few weeks. Will be talking to my doctor about seeing what he says. Maybe see a specialist again.

I'm transitioning to gluten free. My best friend is severely allergic to gluten, but she doesn't have celiacs. And my boyfriend has Crohn's disease so he needs to stay away from gluten and dairy also. Dr.'s orders. It's tough, but you can do it. In no way am I an expert but I will gladly be your moral support.

Also with Hashimotos disease which I have. As well as fibromyalgia. Many auto immune diseases. Not only gluten. But wheat. Soy.
I have to stay away from anything containing wheat. Which is almost everything. It's hard but once you get the hang of it. Your skin reaps the benefits. As well as your health

Also wanted to add. Gluten is found in make up. Lotions. Shampoo. So not only do I have to watch what I eat. I have to be careful what I use on my body. The diet I follow is called AIP /Paleo It's no more expensive than regular. Those on a budget. Basically can eat fresh meats and vegetables. No dairy. Even if you can't afford organic. Long as you use fresh the benefits are amazing. Bacon!! Lol. Stay away from processed foods. Sugars cokes. And eat high protein. You will see.
