I love love love sunflower seeds, but I haven't eaten them in years because I break out super easily, and someone told me that seeds and nuts were really bad for my skin. Is this true or false?

Yeah, that's what I was wondering, but I wanted some other opinions...

I was always told that seeds and nuts can (don't laugh) get you constipated, so eating too many can slow down your body's normal cleansing routine. This might cause the toxins in your body to be pushed out through your skin (blemishes). So, personally, I do agree that seeds and nuts are no bueno when trying to keep a clear complexion.

I have been eating packs of sunflower seeds since...forever, and I've never had a problem with them doing any thing negative. Nuts are high in protein so they're good for you.

Amy G. Nuts don't make you constipated they make you go to the bathroom. That's why they're good to eat if you're constipated.

I've studied nutrition- nuts/seeds don't make you constipated. Nuts/seeds are great for you because they are a great source of healthy fat and protein. They are higher in calories so paying attention to the serving size is a good idea. While some varieties do have added salt it's generally not excessive- usually only around 5-7% of your recommended daily value. Overall, there should be no reason they would cause you to break out.
