I will be starting to work at the store in a week. And during the interview the manager said I will need to wear esstee lauder makeup, smashbox, mac, ect only (those in store and owned by el) So my question is for insiders do they give you samples to get started with just those brands? Or just a discount

Well it depends some give discounts and some give samples. I know most counters give discount so you can purchase their brand.

When I started with lancome at belk they gave me samples the first week, I got a discount throughout the entire dept store, and we also received gratis from lancome three times a year....
