Do not use proactiv! I use stuff by neutrogena and it seems to help. I also put aloe Vera gel on any red acne like if I accidentally pick at it. Hope this helps!

The Body Shop, Murad, or Boscia. CeraVe and Cetaphil are botg good for a gentle cleanser but its not necessarily a good acne cleanser; I use it after I remove my makeup just to help get off excess makeup off and then I use an acne cleanser, and right now Murad is my favorite.

Before bed use a gentle organic (alcohol-free) gel cleanser that has salicylic acid (like Boscia Botanical Blast or Eileen Mai). Follow with an alcohol-free toner in trouble spots & t-zone. In the morning I gently rinse my face with med-cool water, and then again with ice cold water. I apply a thin layer of organic (alcohol-free) aloe vera gel as moisturizer (before applying makeup) like Anita Grant's organic aloe vera gel, or Earth Science Fragrance-Free Almond Aloe moisturizer. Make sure all your makeup is non-comedogenic. (Jane Iredale skincare & cosmetics has some great options). The less stuff you cake on your face the better (your pores need to breathe). Throughout the day use Boscia green tea blotting linens to soak up excess oil (instead of powders.) Other recommended products are Michael Todd's organic line (esp the Charcoal Detox gel cleanser, as well as the Wild Berry Skin Peel). Astara's Blue Flame Purification Mask is great, and works for spot treatments as well. Tracie Martyn Amla Purifying Cleanser is also a good quality (high end) cleanser. Exfoliate no more than 2-3x a week (my skin is oily, so I make sure my regular cleanser has some fruit acids/AHAs in it to keep my pores clear). But overall you should really not be washing your face more than twice a day (after workouts you should though). (Overwashing can dry out or irritate your skin.) Make sure to get all your makeup off (completely) at night so pores can breathe. I have an air purifier in my bedroom that helps keep the air clean, and wash your pillowcase often (to prevent smushing bacteria into your face while you sleep). Incorporate more organic fresh fruits & veggies into your diet, as well as green tea and water. Cut back on artificial sugars, peanuts and dairy (all of which can trigger or worsen acne). Use olive oil instead of butter when cooking. I also take a Vitamin C, Zinc and Astaxanthin supplement daily. Never touch your face with dirty hands, and wipe off your phone with an anti-bacterial wipe regularly.

Clearasil worked really well for me, much better than all the other drugstore brands:) plus it was never to harsh it just calmed down my break outs and made my skin very soft! It really was a good cleanser!:)
