Make the black side even more black and blend it in. other then that it looks fine! remember to wear a eyeshadow primer.

Use a more pigmented black in your crease. You can use eyeliner then go over it with the black eyeshadow. And blend it real well.

I'm not sure if I see eyeliner but if that's what it is don't extend it that far out. I would keep it more with the length of your lid. also bring the "smoke" under your eye a little.

I'm going to go off that you want the example photo and not a true smokey eye.
Don't be afraid to use black. You can barely see it in the photo and it is really what is going to tie your look together. Start out with a little and slowly add more because it much easier to add then take away if you accidentally overdo it. I'd also say you need a dark brown color in the crease.

Well it's not a smokey eye, but for the look you posted first of all

1. Get good quality eyeshadow, the naked 1 will actually work for this.
2 apply a sparkly white or silver all over the lid, just right under the crease
3. Blend a light brown quite high into the crease
2. With a flat top brush apply a dark brown onto the outer third of your lid
3. Apply some black on a small blending brush and blend into the brown.
4. With a clean blending brush blend everything together and touch up anything necessary
5. Apply a highlight on the inner corner and under the brow bone
6. Smoke out some of the dark brown under your eyes to complete the look
57 Liner, lashes Mascarra and you're off :)
