Black Hair Help!

I have long, really thick/coarse hair. It's naturally dark brown/ almost black in color but I just dyed jet black and I feel like my hair color looks really flat now, as opposed to before when you could see different colours in the light. I've been getting compliments but my question is, how can I work the black hair and enhance it? Haircuts? Highlights? Colours? Any ideas? I'm open to try something new this winter!

But what do you suggest looks good with black hair like hairstyles or accent colours? I was thinking of adding some peekaboos
