I'm not sure if it works with other people but I get my care free waves by twisting all my hair together hair spray it with a good holding spray let it sit don't unravel it but scurch the twist untilled it undos then take a beach waxy paste I use one from garniea but I don't reneger the name then hair spray again and scrunch..bam easy care free waves without braiding or heat! :)

Sock curls! They work really well once you get the hang of them! And if the curl is too tight then just spray some water and they will fall a bit. :)

You take socks, or a piece of cloth, pretty much anything works and you wrap the hair around the sock an then tie a knot in the sock to hold the curl in place. Haha I'm not explaining it that well but there's tons of amazing tutorials about it on YouTube! A great way to curl without heat! :)

They are also called rag curls too. I always do mine with old cut up pieces of pajama bottoms haha. :3

I saw on pinterest that if you twist your hair and use a hairdryer on the twist it will give you waves. Worth a try!
