Question on Eyeliner

I am going to be doing a very detailed look tomorrow with just gel eyeliner. I have pretty oily eyelids and I was wondering if I should prime my eyes first before applying the liner or if I could get away with just lightly powdering my lids first.
I have no clue if eye primer prolongs eyeliner or just shadow. For reference, I use MAC Paint Pots as my primer 😊

Primer does prolong eyeliner and eyeshadow. So I suggest to definitely use a primer and to make sure it doesn't go away even more you can tap the eyeliner with a black eye shadow if you wanted to :)
It leaves it lasting and looking beautiful for a longer time :)

When I'm doing a naked eye and don't want creasing on my eyelids I just use my face powder
