I always dye my roots when my hair is unwashed (since that's what the directions say) but yesterday I applyed baby powder to my roots as a dry shampoo alternative (works great by the way!) So can I dye over the baby powder or wash it out first?

It should be fine to just color over it. unless you have a ton.of buildup of.it, the color should just process right thru it.

I've done it before with baby powder in my hair and like kelly said it would, it just processed right through it.

I don't wash most of the time because of time, but the last few color classes I've taken have been talking about if you want the color to be really vibrant, to clarify and rough dry before putting the color on...but like I said..I never have enough time to actually do that, so I think you should be fine.
