Tanning Lotion Questions?

Sorry if I put this in the wrong category I wasn't sure which one to put it in..
1. Is it bad for your skin?
2. Will you still tan (naturally) even if you have tanning lotion on?

I always use tanning lotion, some types makes my skin really dry, but I have eczema so that may be why... The types I have used still lets you tan naturally but you can't tell untill the faketan has come off , unless when you get a natural tan its darker than your tanning lotion then youll be able to see it, hope that all made sense :-) xoxo.
