My dermatologist wants to put me on accutane for bad Cystic acne I get and I tried everything and this is my last choice. The side effects are scaring me and I don't know what to do.. HELP!! I read amazing reviews and horrible reviews.. Help please.

It is pretty scary! I was extremely nervous and I literally cried when they brought it up and I heard everything. Although I hated it I only get pimples when it's that time of month. Is there something you wanna know about it?

Have you looked at you tube? There are some cystic ance videos that might help. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SR1-QEUNBfQ this one I saw a while back I'm not sure if it works since I don't have cystic ance.

Are you on birth control? Certain ones clear up your skin, and certain ones cause cystic acne. I never had any cystic pimples until I started taking birth control.

They out my cousin on Accutane and he had no side effects, especially not the scary ones! I've never had cystic acne so I'm sorry I'm not a lot of help. I'd have an in depth conversation with your derm and mom (or whomever. Just an adult you trust) and really to over the side effects. That'll help ease your conscience!

I honestly loved Accutane I wish I wouldn't have waited to get on it I wanted to try everything else first and all I did was end up with horrible scars, I would do it all over again if I had to, don't read all that stuff and scare yourself. If you have a problem talk to your dermatologist but I had no problems except I got sun burnt a little easier so I just had to use more sunscreen the birth control made me a little moody tho but I've always had that problem with every birth control I've ever tried, it saved my skin I say give it a try girl!

I also have reaaaally bad cystic acne on my shoulders and my bra strap is almost unbearable cause it rubs on it:( but I'm not on anything and don't know how to fix it either!

Well I say you should do the accutane though their maybe scary side effects its the same for anything you may take for your cystic acne And it will give you a chance to look in the mirror and see clear skin you have that chance to get rid of the acne don't think about the negative think about the positive like you won't have to worry about having acne anymore you won't have to buy concealer I think its worth it but its your choice I hope all goes well and hope I could help :D

I have been off accutane for a year and a half now and I couldn't be happier! It's scary and some side effects like dry skin of chapped lips, tolerable things stink but it's so worth it in the end! I had horrible cystic acne now my skin is so clear and only breaks out with very small pimples if I'm stressed or during my cucle.
