I've always had the hardest time finding the perfect foundation for my skin tone. I either picked something that made me look gray in pictures or appeared almost ashy (lol) so I just stop trying altogether. So ladies I would love to know what tips or tricks you might use to choose the perfect foundation... Thanka!

I would swatch foundation along your jaw line and once blended it should mend right along with your skintone. And visit a counter that has a large variety of shades. Becca, Bobbi Brown, Iman, and Fashion Fair have great shade selections. Also be aware of the product ingredients as well because I know from my experience certain brands and formulas would oxidize on me regardless of what I would do to avoid it.

Working in the Industry I must say they are finally getting it right with undertone It's Best to get a color matching which will lead you to a Department Store or a Cosmetics Location with someone hands on
May I Suggest Stila,Makeup Forever,Mac, Bobbi Brown I would suggest Iman if there is a place where you could test the shades
Good Luck

You could always try Mary Kay Timewise Liquid foundation...it got an Essence and O magazine award for Most Comprehensive Shade Range. MK has 23 shades in a matte or luminous version. Good luck!

Milani is a brand found at walgreens, and target and it is a make up line specifically for women of color. L'oreal true match also has a great selection for various skin tones including darker shades.

Mary K, not, it definitely makes ppl look ashy but cover girl had a line out that Queen Latifa endorsed that has all undertone shades and I found a perfect match. It looks like I don't even have on foundation. I sometimes think I need to put more on. check that line out.

Brie N. it could be a skin irritation. Something in whatever you're using is irritating your skin. What did you recently start using?

If you want quality and great coverage go MAC or makeup forever if you are on a budget go black radiance, which you can find in Walgreens! Good luck 😄

Try a brand with no SPF. That makes us woman of color look washed out all the time.
