Hi I'm christy. I burnt my hand today and it was really red and swollen. It is now only swollen on one part and is kind of blotchy. Does anyone know if this is first or second degree burn and will it blister? And answers asap would help a lot :)

A first degree burn will be red and painful, it will peel off in a day or so.

A second degree burn hurts more than a first degree and blisters, the third degree burn is the least painful cuz of nerve damage.

And blisters are the usual indication of a second degree burn. Do you observe any different layers of skin forming? or separation of skin on the burn? If yes, its a second degree burn and it will blister.

In a first degree burn the outermost skin layer is not destroyed and its capable of functioning.
