I have been using the Sebastian Professional Color Ignite mono shampoo and conditioner on my hair since I dyed it red about three months ago, and I do like it, but I'm always looking for ways to keep my hair stay bright longer.. So I have been looking into Lush and their natural hair products, and I have been curious because it's all natural and good for everything, but also skeptic since they don't say anything about protecting the color in the hair.. So my question is, what do you think is better? And Why?
General tips to maintain my color is also appreciated! Thanks :)

I'm a redhead and I use a few things...
Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo (I reviewed it here, check it out) - espesh right after having my hair colored. I don't wanna wet it down and see it all wash away in the shower.
When I *do* shampoo, I use DevaChan No-Poo and One Condition. They're formulated for curly hair, but won't make your hair curly. The No-Poo is a conditioning cleanser, contains no sulphates or phosphates - it doesn't foam up, which makes it a little bit of a challenge to get used to. But it's worth it.
I also only shampoo once a week.

I do use a dry shampoo to keep my hair fresh between washes, and I try to go as long as possible between shampooing my hair (about two times a week now).
I have never seen that brand before (I live in Norway), but I guess that what you're saying is that sulphate and phosphate free is the way to go? :)

Yep! Sulphates and phosphates kill your color, as well as hair's ability to retain moisture. Maybe try "shampooing" with your conditioner next time? That works too.

i am also artifically red. I get my hair dyed at an aveda salon. Every 6 weeks I either get roots done or all over color (alternating with each visit). There are a few things that I have leanred along the way to help keep color vibrant.
1. Keep on dying it over and over and over again. Building that color up really helps when it comes to maintenance. At first, my hair would loose the color vibrancy so fast. Now, it stays until my next dye. It's a combination of repeat dye updates and the rest of the tips I have here.
2. shampoo as little as possible. get a shower cap for everyday showers. I shampoo every 2-3 days and sometimes I go 4 -> especially right after I dye. I use a dry shampoo as well but my scalp did adjust to less frequent washings so I don't have to use the dry shampoo very often at all. And I do have what I would consider to be oily hair.
3. Use the right shampoo - the topic of your thread. :-) I like the following:
Color depositing (works best for maintenance):
Aveda Madder Root color depositing shampoo/conditioner (high end color depositing)
Sally Beauty Supply Qantum Riveting Reds shampoo/conditioner (lowe end color depositing)
non-color depositing:
organix line (all sulfate free)
John frieda red (great drugstore option if you don't need a color depositer)
Don't get discouraged, keep on going. I've been dying mine red for about a year now (natural brunette) and even though red hair is a pain, I'm never going back!

@smashley: your hair is definitely bright! but, it appears to me that you have used a very bright semi-perm. dye such as manic panic and quite possibly have bleached first. To get the REALLY bright red, you have to bleach first and I"m just not willing to do that - too much upkeep for me. my roots would show through in no time and be terribly obvious. I'm a natural dark brunette and what you see is dyed over my brown with no other alteration. I do love the colors in your hair and would love to have it but I'm just not willing to spend the time on it.
I will say that I have bee known to use Manic panic vampire red to punch up the color between colorings and it worked quite well but i got tired of dying my hair at home and the hours it took for the color to sit. The manic panic dyed my towels and shower pink every time too. I just go to my salon more frequently now instead of manic panicing every 3 weeks. I def. reccomend the brand though if you want the really bright color!
