I'm kind of new to this blogging world and was just wondering how you all respond to comments if you use blogger?
I know it annoys a lot of people that there is no reply function and it annoys me too, but do you just leave another comment or go to the commenter's blog and leave a comment? Because I really don't want anyone to miss my answer ;)

if someone asks a question, I'll go on their blog and read their latest post. Post a comment like I normally would and at the end just say something like "and to answer your question..".

@Tina - I have had a lot of challenges leaving comments on Blogger Blogs. Not sure why though. I typically just follow them on twitter and comment there. I know it isn't the same but not sure what the work around is. I use Wordpress and I don't have the same problems with the other Wordpress bloggers I follow. Good luck.

@Mandy: I have issues writing on your posts. It won't let me use my blogger account, so I have to either sign in with my google account, which is like, a blank page, or enter as a guest. I really wish I could comment as myself ):

An alternative to Disqus is Livefyre, and it won't delete your previous comments (it imports them). http://livefyre.com

I have the same issue: my blog doesn't allow some to post a comment under their blogger acct. - it's strange. Does Disqus remedy this? I also am concerned about Andrew's question about existing comments being deleted... =/

About DISQUS You can import all your previous comments from Blogger to Disqus. But at the moment I would not recommend it because it they are always having issues.
But DISQUS is one and so is Intense Debate. Both of those allow you to directly reply to a comment.

I use Intense Debate. I am having a few little issues with it, but the advantages outweigh those. You can reply, it keeps your fonts and colors that you have on your page and it has a bunch of widgets too.

ohh, so many possibilities! Definitely need to look into the widgets.
When you guys say you have problems commenting on peoples blogs, is that when they just use bloggers default commenting system?

This is information is super helpful! I get so frustrated with Blogger when I receive several comments on a post and am trying to post replies to everyone! Thanks everyone!

When I used Blogger's commenting system, I would add my own comment. I quickly tired of it, though, and added DISQUS commenting system. It's free, super easy to install and is a fantastically wonderful commenting system. They have addons and if you make a profile, it carries over to any site that uses DISQUS.

Think it might take me some time to get used to disqus, find it kind of confusing...
@Dylan: You can login with openID, and use your blog url. But it's still not completely the same, wish I could write as my "blogger me" too.
