I am 29 years old and although I still look youthful, the lines are starting to appear. I was told RoC was a good product to use.
Do you agree and what do you use that you honestly feel has helped you?

hello! i'm 33 and yes i know what you are talking about :) I am not big on blowing a huge budget on products and normally stick to drugstore style products. I swear by Oil of Olay. I use the daily renewal face wash twice a day and also moisturize day and night with their daily renewal cream. It makes quite a difference. I also make sure I never leave the house without spf 15 anymore. I just use neutrogena's oil free sunscreen for faces and just plenty of water to stay hydrated. I'm determined to not break the bank as the years go by! :)

The biggest cause for wrinkles is Sun Damage! Never leave the house with a good sunscreen! Keep a healthy diet and make sure to look for the good antiaging ingredients in any product you decide to buy! Something with Peptides, Hyaluronic acid, green tea, vitamins, coQ etc..

Mirna, I'm busting down the door on 40 very soon and I can say that I've been fortunate that I've inherited good skin from both of my parents. :-) My parents are both in their late 50s and neither one have any wrinkles. My father has always used Oil of Olay (nothing fancy...just the regular formula) on his skin. My mother flip flops between products and is currently using Philosophy (at my prompting lol). I've heard good things about RoC but I've never used it. I cleanse my skin every night (never sleeping with makeup on) with either Philosophy Purity Made Simple or Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser and my Clarisonic Mia. I moisturize at night only (mornings too only during the cold months here) with Philosophy Hope In A Jar. And I use a gentle exfoliator in the mornings, my fave is Philosophy Micro-delivery Exfoliating Face Wash. I'd suggest that you always wear sun screen...ALWAYS. Eat well and stay hydrated. As you get older you may want to try a retinol cream (like Help Me by Philosophy). Just don't over-do it....there are so many products out there that sometimes we do way too much to our skin. By the way, Clinique was a line that I used in my late teens and throughout my twenties. Loved their moisturizer.

I guess Philosophy is it..Everyone has told me about it but it is crazy expensive for the size in my opinion. Maybe I just dont know how to use just enough...lol Thanks Maria

It is on the pricey side...but a little goes a long way. Oil of Olay has some awesome products and remember you don't have to stick to one line of products. For the longest time I used a different cleanser and still used Clinique's moisturizer. But if Philosophy is what you want to try, I'd suggest getting a "try me" kit. I've seen two different ones at Ulta for about $35.00. And make sure you purchase it (on line or in a store) from someone who has a great return policy. No sense in buying a product, using it for a couple weeks, not liking it and having it take up room on your vanity. I happen to love the products I'm using right now from Philosophy but it's not for everyone and it's awesome that there are so many different product lines out there to choose from. Pricey doesn't always mean better (my mother's and my daughter's favorite way to remove makeup??? Ponds cold cream). Use what works for you, but always remember to be good to your body on the inside...it will show on the outside. ;-)

Hi Mima! (Just a note before I go off)- anti-aging skincare should mainly be used at night time because that is when our skin naturally "renews" :) The best thing to do during the day for anti-aging is a good hydrating serum of your choice, and a good sunscreen!
Here we go...
Drugstore Suggestion: Try a topical AHA (stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acid) cream for your skin. My favorite to use is Alpha Hydrox's the original 10% Glycolic AHA Cream. (it can be found at Ulta) It's a chemical exfoliant so it removes the dead skin cells on the top layer, and encourages your skin cells to renew faster(speeds up cell renewal cycle). If you look at ANY anti-aging serum, cream, whatever, AHA is usually one of the first ingredients. Usually the first few ingredients in any skincare product are the main and important ones! :D AHA=godsend. A warning though: you may not want to start off at 10%, try 8%, and work your way up to it. It can sting the first few times you apply, but you get used to it. You might want to start using it 2x a week. Apply it sparingly, and since it is getting rid of your dead skin cells, your skin could have a little sensitivity to the sun, so a good sunscreen is recommended! *This is a night time product :)
High End Suggestion: Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair. It's miracle in a bottle at about $50 a pop, but it lasts about 5-6 months if you use 4 drops every night religiously. So that's about a $5 a month insurance plan for your skin, so don't let the "high end" brand or price discourage you! I use this myself, have bought bottles for my friends, aunts, and even my grandmother uses it! It evens out skin tone, texture, and clarity as well as helps w/ keeping wrinkles at bay.
