to ombre or not?

hey everyone! I just did a post on whether or not I should ombre my hair. What do you all think about the growing hair trend? Here is my post on it http://nadiesanddaisies.blogspot.com/ xxxxx

I'm actually doing a reverse ombre on mine tomorrow - in reds. Lighter on top and darker toward the midhshaft/ends. I'll post pics!

I personally don't like that hairstyle at all... I'm not trying to offend anyone, it's just the way I feel. To me it's like someone couldn't pick 1 hair colour..

Sinead, looks like you already have Ombre hair already. (No offense if it's not.) To me most people's idea of it really looks nothing more than hair that was dyed and has grown out to it's natural color at the roots. It's not a flattering effect unless the person is doing something dramatic like a fire engine red that blends out to a copper or a bright blue at the top that gradients to a teal blue. Something dramatic not a dark blonde at top to a light blonde at bottom or a dark brown at top to a light brown/blonde on bottom, it just looks like grown out hair then.

i think tips are cute like what lauren conrad did. maybe try doing just a small section under your hair in the ombre style that you can braid down or something to see if you're a fan of it before you do your whole head :)

I think it can look quite lovely in shades of brown to blonde.. or even light brown to blonde or red or whatever, as long as it's done right. It takes some actual skill to create a true ombre look. Grown out hair typically has a hard line and isn't a beautiful, gradual change.. it's just grown out looking! Go for it if you like the style. I was thinking of doing it myself before I went red. Giuliana Rancic totally inspired me.

I agree with Yasmin. I don't really like it because it looks like people got lazy keeping their hair colored. That's just my opinion though, it's cool if other people want to rock that look tho :)

I didn't know this was a trend! I've been only doing highlights under my crown so I can put up my hair or leave it down and hide my dark root contrast for a month longer. It's worked for me as a frugal chic strategy. =)

I love the ombre look. Especially if it's done right and the colors are close together, such as a light brown and a deep honey blonde like I've done before very pretty and natural looking with my extensions in!

Ombre looks divine if its done right. The best I have seen is stephy from the bold and the beautiful. Her hair was to die for.

I LOVE the look of ombre hair. To me it's a really fun but sophisticated way to play with color. I'm really considering trying this look with extensions so I can get something pretty light on my ends without frying my ridiculously dark hair.

I think the ombre hair only works going from light brown to blonde. I think it would look silly on me personally, to go from black to red tips or something, I feel it would look as if I need to get a dye job! If you can pull it off and use lighter colors then go for it but I definitely think this is one of those looks that isn't made for everyone.
