Actually, I think it's pretty funny, and in some cases spot on.

A lot of the "gurus" are self-proclaimed and take themselves waaaaaaaaayyyyyy too seriously.

omg i found the site and i want to make a screen name just to scream at the people on the site, but on the other hand I cant. stop. reading. this is like a guilty pleasure - haha. they are mean tho right? dont they have anything else to do with their time?...like aimlessly surfing beautylish?! i think would be a better- more positive option, right?

I really really dislike that site. I went on it once and never returned again. If I wanted to be around people who said nasty things about people they don't even know I'd go back to middle school. It just makes a lot of people on there seem like bullies who only say those things to put others down. I have better things to do in my life that sit at a computer and write nasty things about others. Instead of making up horrible rumours about guru's why don't you worry about your own life! And honestly, talking about their private lifes and trying to figure out where they live, who they're dating, who they're family is seriously seems a bit stalkerish to me!
These people are doing a thing they love and if you don't like it don't watch it! They're not forcing you to look at their channel.
And honestly think of it this way, if you're reading this and you're a member of gurugossip.com, if you where on the other side of that thread reading what hundreds on strangers who have never met you are saying about you, how would you feel? Not so great huh? If you wouldnt like it done to you then back away from the keyboard and stop typing such hurtful words!!

Excuse my rant, but that's my opinion on that horrid site.

i think this site is absolutely pathedic and people who read and write comments on the site are just as bad, people (gurus) are just doing what they love and they do it for people like us who love watching them, for people to actually take time out of their day to write horrible,negative things about other people obviously have very sad depressing lives, who cares if gurus get paid to do certain videos, or wear something that some else thinks is ugly or too short. or the lipstick colour they wore doesnt suit them. seriously people need to get a life. they are all keyboard warriors and would probably never say it their face in real life so what gives them the right to do it over the computer without consiquences. And i know first hand how gossip sites can hurt someone, people in the area i live in have made a gossip site and writes rumors and horrible things about myself and people i know, its so pathedic and it can be quite hurtfull.

LOL I admit I've read some of the posts there (the first time GG popped up here and I was like, "GG? What's that?") and can agree with some of the comments there that some gurus need to stick with makeup/fashion and stop whining about their personal life. I do not need to know your mama was on welfare, your husband beats you, your baby's daddy didn't pay child support or that you've done porno.

But if you haven't noticed, all the previous threads on GG have been deleted. Wish they'd just outright ban posting about that place.

I've already reported this thread and hope that they delete it like they did all the rest. Frankly, that site will not be shut down because it's not violating the law. Just as gurus have the right to discuss their personal lives the people who post at sites like that have the right to bash people all they want. (No it doesn't make it right.) But the very least we can do is not to give them more attention. It's like what's her face, the woman who recently got off scott free from killing her daughter. Nothing is going to stop her but by ignoring her she'll eventually go away. Same with people like those who post at GG.

To be fair, GuruGossip DOES have a "Rave" section, and if you focus on the positivity of that, it's pretty easy to ignore the bitchy stuff. And again - just playing devil's advocate here, if you put yourself and your personal life into the public eye, you have to expect a certain amount of backlash. I doubt that anyone can say they haven't had a laugh at someone else's expense in one of the tabloids.

It's about choice, really. If you don't want to read it, then don't. I don't think it's necessarily fair to have a thread pulled *here* for discussing it either. That's censorship in my eyes.

As Oscar Wilde said, "The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about." I'm sure the people being slagged over there are happy for the hits on their Twitter feeds and YT accounts.

I honestly just think the forum is straight up rude. Most of the topics I've seen aren't even about a guru's makeup or their abilities as an artist. They're about things like "i wonder if andreaschoice is sleeping with timothydelaghetto" and other random things that have nothing to do with these girls online lives. Their whole thing is that, "If the gurus didn't want to be talked about, they wouldn't be in the public eye" and stuff like that. But I've also seen topics with people complaining about the nature of the site on the GG forums, and the mods there simply say "If you don't like it here, leave.", which I find contradictory because, they clearly do not like the videos of the girls they're bashing, so why don't they just unsub. and not watch?

I agree with Kimberly M. If you want gurugossip shut down then why don't you go ahead and report perez hilton too?

And I disagree w/ what someone said about gurus not doing it for money, but because they love it. Umm, for most all of the big gurus YT is their JOB. That's not doing it for fun...that's doing it for the paycheck. And I do honestly think that most people these days are getting into YT for the wrong reasons.

Oh, and I'm not saying that I hate them or w/e because it's their job. I still enjoy watching the bigger YT gurus, but I was just making a point. Just wanted to make that clear. :) Good for them if they can make a good living sitting at home talking to a camera.

You didn't see it because all previous conversations were deleted. Don't feel stupid about asking a question. Here's some advice I've learned over the years and that's if it involves "drama" from other sites leave it off the forum especially if it doesn't concern the forum you're on.

I admit I've been to GG and read posts there. I hate some of the replies there and think some of those people are vulgar but there are many there who have brought up valid points (and facts to back up their claims about a guru).

The bottom line is this with gurus - they're not out to make friends, they're not out to make you feel good about yourself, they're not out doing it because they absolutely have a passion for it (except Lisa Eldridge who is a guru who refuses Youtube Partnership), they're doing it for the money. If Kandee Johnson is telling the truth that she makes 1/8 of a penny per view she gets then she's making pretty good money off Youtube as is all the big name gurus who have partnerships.

People are catty... you put yourself out there, you have to expect some people will pick at everything. I'm sure most "beauty gurus" understand that. I find people who sit there and go "OMG SHE IS SO UGLY" to be especially stupid and rude, but really... what are you going to do? People will say what they want... you just have to roll your eyes and move on.

I personally have people I love and hate... and personally, I would never go on there and bash even the person I most dislike because I think it's petty and useless.

i dont think that anyone has to assume things about a person such as what they're doing with their money or who they're sleeping with or how much make up they own. i'm not saying no one has the right to assume, i'm just saying they don't have to.. even though most do.

there's going to be issues on both sides of the argument with gurugossip so no one really wins in the end. i think it's cool that girls make videos on youtube, i learn a lot from them. i also get why people make comments like they do on GG because yeah, if you put yourself out there, you are putting yourself at risk to be talked about. im not saying its right or wrong but it happens a lot. but everyone judges eachother, whether they voice that judgement or not. it just happens that everyone on GG chooses to voice that judgement in one place. that being said, i also scroll through comments sometimes on these girls' videos and see a lot of negativity; so guru gossip isn't just one concentrated area where people are being slammed.

it does stink that there's that site because i think it keeps people from wanting to do videos. i didn't know about GG until recently and once i read through a few forums, i was freaking out a bit, i guess? i'd love to make videos on youtube. i see so many nice people in the community and i'd love to join.. but that being said, a site like GG is enough to stop me from doing that.

i do think that we shouldnt be getting upset about a gurugossip thread on here though.. some girls really dont know about the site and just want to know more about it or what people think about it. beautylish is a great place but a lot of people aren't as familiar with topics that are sensitive like this. it'd just be better to treat this thread like you feel gurugossip should be treated.. just ignore it.

there absolutely nothing wrong with bring up the topic of gurugossip its simple if you have an opinion state it if you don't ..then don't comment for some people to treat the thread like your the cyber police is pointless,the site has its good points an bad point blank,an no the site should not be shout down NONE of you can stop people from giving there opinion bad or good,even if i don't like somethings that's said or how its said on that site they have free speech like the rest of us.I find it funny how most people on here read insyle and people magazine an find the celebrity trash hilarious an believe everything they say call up their friends like OMG Brinety spares is bald

She is COMPLETELY right. Thanks to the first amendment, GG is 100% legal unless they are personally affecting the person they're talking about personal/professional life.
I read TheDirty.com which could be seen as 1000x worse than GG, depends on who you're asking. All gossip. But the first amendment lets websites like that be run.
Trying to shut any website down is unrealistic - if you're really THAT offended by the site, then by all means just don't visit. It's possible to live your life pretending it doesn't exist. :p
