I started at age 3 for my ballet and dance recitals. Then thought it was ok to do it all the time! WRONG! my mom use to catch me every morning climbing up her bathroom sink with her makeup bag ready to get dolled up for preschool. She always would wipe it off. I remember my little girlfriends and I would go to the bathroom in 1st grade and pinch our cheeks so we looked like we were wearing blush. Then one of my friends came up with the idea to flick water on our eyebrows and eyelashes because it made them sparkle and the boys like that. Oh to be a child again haha:)....Btw if y'all get the chance check out and follow my blog. http://stilettosandcake.blogspot.co... .....Give me the link to yours too and I will check it out as well beautylishers;)

I started when I hit middle school (7th grade). I would only wear eyeliner on my bottom lashline. That was really all I knew about makeup haha

I started in 7th grade as well, i would experiment doing top liner, but mostly just bottle lashline, until 8th grade I used to always do eyeliner on my top lid. I didn't really get interested in makeup until around 9th/10th grade

I started my freshman year of high school, well technically the summer before. I was never allowed to until then except for Halloween when my mom put it on me. When I started my father took me to a Clinique Counter at Dillard's and the woman there taught me all the basics and after that I wore quite a bit: concealer, powder, shadow, liner, and mascara and gradually started wearing more each year and here I am now! haha

I love reading all of these! everyones makeup beginnings are so different:)

I played with my mom and sister's makeup since I was about 5. Then started with fruity clear lip gloss around 5th grade. Then started regularly wearing mascara, a little eyeliner, translucent powder, and colored lipgloss around 7th grade. I dressed super retro back then so it was all about the eye liner and glossy red lips ;)

Well technically I guess when I was a toddler lol because my mama put me in a lot of beauty pageants, but I started doing it on my own in 8th grade. I used so much eyeliner it aint even funny. lol

I was a dancer since the age of 3 as well, and I would wear the typical makeup on picture day and recital time and competitions and whatnot. I didn't start wearing makeup regularly until middle school, but even then I would just wear lipgloss, a bit of eyeliner, and possibly a bit of powder. High school is when I really started getting into makeup, and then towards the end of my senior year was when I really started learning about the art of makeup and really enjoying it and taking it to the next level :)

So fun to read everyone's stories. I started wearing makeup in the 8th grade. My cousin taught me how to use brown eyeliner, and I also used tinted moisturizer and bronzer. I bought the exact same Neutrogena bronzer I saw Jennifer Aniston wearing on the cover of a magazine. Sadly, Neutrogena discontinued it right when I ran out.

I wasn't allowed to wear makeup until I was 16. Though I tried to fight it when I was younger, I'll probably have the same policy when I have kids.

I didn't grow up with rules about makeup, but didn't start wearing it until college, and then it was mostly eye makeup. Didn't start wearing foundation until I got my first office job!

7th grade but I could only wear it outside of school because my school didn't allow us to wear any makeup. I couldn't even wear clear gloss. But once in high school I'd wear it almost daily. That's when I started to wear all different colors. I was pretty out there lol in a good way though I always wanted to be different with what I did. I loved it because I love art and makeup was just another way to express myself.

i think i started freshman year in high school.. it could have been sophmore year. it was just mascara for awhile but i dont really remember when everything else started!

I probably started wearing it regularly in highschool (I don't remember it being part of my routine before that). I usually just wore foundation/powder and lipgloss. My senior year of highschool I started wearing some mascara and black eyeliner on my waterline, and that's basically what I wore throughout college. I remember my mom not being a fan of my wearing any kind of eye makeup...she would always comment on it disapprovingly calling it "black stuff", even though I had so little of it on that I'm surprised she could even tell lol. After I graduated (so only a couple years ago) is when I started wearing a little bit more products like blush and concealer, and only veryy recently have I started wearing some natural eyeshadow on a regular basis (I've also changed my eyeliner color to brown). I still have never worn eyeliner anywhere but my waterline! I've tried it and it just looks too harsh on me. I also never wear lip color, save for some tinted chapstick. haha.

Junior Prom. 30 minutes before I had to go. I made my sister do my eyes and blush haha! That's when I realized that I really should learn to do it myself and have become obsessed ever since!

However, i've been watching YouTube vids and tutorials long before that. I guess I just needed that little last minute push to make me try it for myself! (yayy procrastination)

I started with mascara in 6th grade, eyeshadow in 7th, heavier eyeliner in 8th and powder, foundation and/or concealer in freshman year. Overall regularly in about 8th grade

I was in boarding school in England until I was 13 and then at boarding school in US after that. Honestly I wasn't even interested in makeup until my 30s when I saw an infomercial for the Victoria Jackson makeup kit. Anyone remember Victoria? She was the pioneer for skin-tone matching makeup.
