why am i having such a hard time adding photos onto my profile? grrrr!!

Where are you experiencing a problem? If you hover over your profile picture on the top right of the page and select "your photos" from the drop down menu, you see all of your pictures and there's a button on the right side of the page to add more photos.

My problem is when I get to select photos, I choose the photo I want to upload but it doesn't show up...

Maybe the photo is too large? I know theres a limit to the size you can upload, but usually it'll give you an error if it can't be uploaded for that reason.

Nothing! When I select a photo to upload it just doesn't show up. I'll keep trying, maybe it was my computer? I'm not sure though.
