I am looking for a good face wash, I have combination skin, acne prone on my forehead. I have huge pores and I'm looking for something to unclog them. Thanks!

I also have combination skin, I've used Basis Cleaner Clean face wash for a year or two now, I love it! It's soapless, so it doesn't aggrivate your skin. You are going to need to use a seperate product to unclog pores and get rid of acne. Products with salicylic acid have worked really well for me.

Um...you can use a face wash that contains salicylic acid. Dermalogic, Murad, DDF all have face washes with this ingredient in a 1.5-2% dose which (I think) is the strongest you can get over the counter. To be honest, I think you can benefit more from a scrub. Sloughing off the dead skin will elimnate it from being able to fall back into the pore and clogging it to begin with. I am referring to a real scrub...not that skin polishing jojoba bead nonsense that's safe enough to use every day. A real scrub is like Modern Friction from Origins or Skin Prep from Dermalogica...something you can only use 3x's a week max. Finally, if budget is not an issue I'd suggest getting a salicylic face wash and a DDF Revolve of Clarisonic (the Revolve is cheaper). This way you can get a gentle sloughing of the skin every day as you wash it. Kind of elimates the scrub step. BTW DDF Revolve also comes with the scrub brush head and dermabrasion polish. Hope that helps.

The reason I recommended a seperate product with salicylic acid is because with a face wash, you are just washing the medication off your face and it doesn't get a chance to really work. Just saying what worked for me.

i also have oily skin and i have been using clearisil rapid action daily face wash...i splash my face with warm water to open my pores...put it on and let it sit for about 5 mins and then wash it off...this allows the salicyclic acid to get into your pores...i have been using it for a couple weeks and it has made a MAJOR difference...

Murad Clarifying cleanser is the best stuff on this planet. Once you use it, you'll never turn back. Seriously. I used to have this horrible acne, and it (the cleanser) totally just reversed everything about my skin. It's so much softer, and I hardly ever break out. It's seriously the best thing in the world! Enough gab. Here's the link: http://www.murad.com/acne-face-cleanser.jsp It's worth every dime! Trust me!
