okay, so back a while ago, I started making youtube videos, didnt keep up with it, and I was embarassed by it actually, there was nothing wrong with it, I just get embarassed easily, my husband saaw one my videos and introed with hey youtube, and it completely embarassed me, but since I was having trouble keeping it up I deleted it, to this day, I am still embarassed, especially if anyone around me found out I was doing something like that. I dont have friends around me locally that I see, all my friends live far away, we still talk, but I would be embarassed if they found out. I loved doing YT videos, it made me very happy. I love the beauty community and everything about it. Now with that said, I really want to start up again, but I have a lot going on we are moving, staying with family till we find a place, and it wont be for atleast 2 more months till I have a good place to record. So my question is do I record again at all? Do I wait a few months, or do I just not do it all? I never felt ashamed of my channel, just what people would think of it. At first my husband made fun of me, then he was okay with it, and he even supported it. But everytime he would watch my videos I would get very embarassed, its difficult for me to put myself out there. So I dont know what to do. I also dont think he knows about my beauty blog either, or my personal blog. Not hiding it from him, I just didnt tell him about it

Just checked out your blog, and I just wanted to tell you that you are not doing anything wrong! We tend to work ourselves up over insecurities (myself included) and we worry we're not doing something good enough to where we may be too intimidated to try, but how will we know we'll be any good enough if we don't try? =]

If you are worried about a messy backdrop while you move, make a backdrop on foam-core from the craft store until you get situated. Many on here will be happy to tell you how embarrassed they were when they first started, but once word got out, they found support from their loved ones... And if you want to maintain a budget, I've never heard anyone complain about a white wall as a backdrop. =]

I was insecure before, but it made me realize I had to work to get to how I wanted to portray myself in the blog/video world, and I've found things to do to better myself. I'm not 100% there (still a work in progress) but its been rewarding seeing he progress made towards hitting those goals.

If you're embarrassed to let ppl know, just wait for beauty enthusiasts to follow your blog. I did that, and once I hit 50 subs and was featured on Beautylish, I shared it via FB and I received positive feedback. If someone were to hate on me, having that handful of strangers that subbed was proof that what I wrote was relavent enough to be read, and I would challenge anyone to try making their own blog! It's not easy, but to me - it's rewarding and brings a smile to my face.

Sry for responding to all of ur threads... I guess you and I are the few night owls/early birds. =P

I am definitely a night owl. Its 7 AM where I am at, and I always fall victim to napping in the middle of the day and stay up all night. Thanks for the advice you were really helpful. Since we are staying with family, it might be hard to film for a while. But we wont be entirely moved out for a week and half. I will most likely record, and keep a stash a videos, I dont have a camera, but I do have a netbook with a webcam, and should be able to record videos on my iphone. If I dont record videos, I will definitely keep up with my blog, which i can never seem to keep up with my personal blog
