Hey beauties, my best friend and I were just trying to find methods on how she can maintain her pale skin throughout the winter season. (She prefers paler skin opposed to tanned). Does anyone know any methods on how she can get paler skin ? (:

Brightening bb creams, but those are very limited in shade range..

There are also just brightening topical moisturizers, peels, etc... I only know this from watching my mom though. Asian stores have skin whitening soaps too.

alright thank you !

besides cream, she can go to the dermatologist.
also try an oxygen capsule. they brighten the skin and give radiance. :)

<<Also avoid being in the sun for long periods of time as it's not good for your skin anyway >>

The sun is a prime source of Vitamin D. It's probably the most natural way to get it.

Also, IMO, if our ancestors could spend long hours in the sun, when sunscreen was virtually unheard of, and be fine, then why can't we? I'm beginning to wonder if this whole "OMG WEAR SUNSCREEN OR THE SUN WILL KILL YOU!" thing is a bit overhyped and (possibly) another form of fearmongering.

Use lemon juice as toner it naturally lightens the skin. And wear sunscreen.
Shelly T.- That is true but when our ancestors lived here the sun wasn't as hot. And our ancestors had much shorter lives than we will.

I am probably the palest version of myself I could possibly be. I was a super dark olive skinned child, but now I find myself buying more and more "fair" or "light" toned makeup instead of the dark end of medium shades. For the past 11-12 years, I have always put on SPF before leaving the house and I have tried to avoid sun. As Shelly said it might be a little overhyped-but it does usually hinder my tan, which is all I can ask it to do. I used to wear hats, stay under umbrellas or shaded areas, or just cover myself with appropriate clothing. Now I am a little more lax about it and I'll use SPF and cover my face with a towel or something at the beach. And I don't know if this is a fake thing my friend made up, but she loves being tan and she won't shower for four to six hours after tanning at the beach-claiming "it effects the tan" so I usually shower immediately after I get home from a day in the sun.
