I've been using "Painterly" paint pot for a few years now with no problems at all as a primer. But just recently I've noticed some dry skin occurring on my eyes. I plan on getting a new primer because I'm suspecting it's that, but has this happened to anyone else?

im so glad someone brought up paint pots... listen, dont bother spending ridiculous amounts of money at mac... go to your drugstore and get the maybelline color tattoos!!! they are pretty much cream eye shadow EXACTLY like paint pots, but they work 100x better... they are about $4-$8 right now, but i can see the price rising soon enough... they last FOREVER... to answer your question, dry skinning has never occured for me, but trying a different product couldnt hurt!!
here's the beautylish page about it... http://www.beautylish.com/p/maybelline-eye-studio-color-tattoo

I also agree! I bought a Maybelline Color Tattoo in Too Cool and it's got excellent staying power, color payoff and a workable consistency very similar to MAC's paint pots. I just wish they had a color similar to Painterly.

if it is the pot paint that is drying your skin out, it may be weather, to strong of a cleanser or not good enuff moisturizer, and you really want to stick with the paint pots...which i understand cuz i love my groundwork....try adding some josie maran argan oil to your moisturizer its amazing stuff. Just a few drops mixed with your moisturizer and you are good instantly rehydrates skin...but i agree with ashley and jeanine the color tattoos are amazing...you may still need to add some more moisture to your moisturizer because they are pretty much the same formula meaning whatever is in the paint pot that is drying you out is going to be the same thing that drys you out n the tattoo colors
