Have you tried the new Split End Treatments (from Nexxus, Kérastase, Infusium, etc.)? Do any of them really work?

No, and I'm skeptical.

i recently got the nexxus split end treatment shampoo and conditioner i have only used it a couple times so far so i haven't really noticed anything yet as far as my split ends but if nothing else it leaves my hair feeling so soft and gives it a nice shine, best my hair has ever felt from using a shampoo so far.

I have had pretty bad split ends for years when I tried to grow my layers out, and my hair is pretty dry from shoulders down. Even after regular trims, I still had splits well into the body of my hair. I started using Redken products last year, and I am in love! I haven't used a split end treatment per se because once the hair shaft is split/broken, there's nothing that can be done except cut it off. However, I have found that since using products to strengthen and protect, my split ends don't form as quickly.

I love their Extreme shampoo that I follow with the All Soft conditioner. I use the Smooth Down Butter Treat deep conditioning about 2-3 times weekly, and I really can see a difference. My hair has never been so soft, smooth, and shiny (with no residue or coating!). I just started applying the Extreme Anti-Snap leave in to my damp hair (which I guess is more prevention than treatment), and my brush isn't filling up with hair like it normally does after I blow dry. Overall, I am very pleased with these products. Hope this helps!

Hey Ning,
None of the split end menders/products actually work, they can conceal the look of it but eventually that strand of hair will go up to your roots, the only way to completely get rid of them is to cut your hair then maintain healthy hair to prevent any other split ends! :)
Hope this helps!

i agree with bella, the only way to rid split ends is to cut your hair. after that use a product to prevent more splitting, and keep up with regular trims.

I use Aussie split end treatment, leave in conditioner, and a sauve heat protectant to prevent them but that's it.

If you already have split ends, I suggest just getting a trim every 3 months :3 Pros are that they grow longer, look healthier, and you rid of your split ends! ^_^

Redken Anti-Snap is some seriously great stuff! Unfortunately no matter how much Tresemme pushes their split end remedy, there isn't much to do for split ends except to cut them. Split end remedies basically 'glue' the strands together, but it's not a 'solution' by any means! Best of luck! :)

Unfortunately, there is nothing that can make split ends grow back together. My suggestion would be to get a trim and keep your hair healthy, try not to use heat very often and when you do, make sure to use a heat protectant. Try deep conditioning once a week (my preference is macadamia oil deep repair masque, but if you are looking for something much cheaper, go with Aussie 3 minute miracle...using this as an every day conditioner wouldn't be a bad idea either). Good luck!
