Hey ladies/gents!
Apologies if this is in the wrong section, if it is could someone please move it? Thank you.
I'm getting my legs waxed on Tuesday for the first time. I study "Beauty Therapy" at college here in the UK, however I think it's similar to Cosmetology in the US. I haven't learned about waxing yet and as I've never been waxed I'm a complete novice.
Firstly - what's the pain like? Should I take a pain killer or five (lol) before I get it done?
What type of hair length is best? I have about nearly a months worth of growth, as I heard the longer the better. I have to admit I somewhat resemble a gorilla at the moment. Is there anything I should be expecting?
Any advice/tips would be great! Thanks! :)

The first time always hurts, though it depends on what your usually like with pain. For some people the pain won't bother them. I don't think a pain killer will help much :p For me, it felt like a hot burning feeling, but I got used to it quite quick. I hear there are skin numbing creams on the market but I have personally never tried them. Apply the cream to skin, wax/tweeze & apparenlty you hardley feel a thing so this may be something to look into?
All the best x x

Thanks for your reply, Jessica!
I'm definitely a wuss when it comes to pain, unfortunately. You're probably right though, I doubt a pain killer will do anything. I've never heard of those creams, but I think it'd be pointless for a full leg wax, I'd be buying a ton of it! I think I'll just have to suck it up, lol.
