I am having a bit of a dilemma. My hair has been a dark brown almost black colour since I was born until last year, when I added light brown highlights. Now, I want to dye my hair red, like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVSehGXAD9c&feature=list_related&playnext=1&list=SPCFD2D6BDB6155BF7 but I hear you have to bleach it? I'm really clueless when it comes to hair so...if anyone could help me, that'd be great, lol.

You will have to lighten your hair. You wont have to lighten it to blonde, but you will to a light brown then put the red over top of it. Also I would suggest getting manic panics red shampoo. You can get it from http://www.ikickshins.net/dye.php

Nononono! You don't have to lighten it at all!! Garnier has a red hair dye for dark hair and it honestly works wonders! I recently dyed my hair red with this and it came out really red. Try this before you damage your hair with bleach :)

Red hair looks good on anyone. I just died my hair from a dark brown too and t didn't need to be bleached. I would suggest though that you try to get something more dramatic because coming from a dark color it won't be as dramatic if you wanted something modest.

Use Henna, thats what I do. No bleach nessicary, and it actually strengthens your hair instead of (possibly) damaging it.
I use a mixture of henna powder, olive oil, red raspberry tea, apple cider vinegar and my usual conditioner--let the mixture sit on my hair for a few hours then rinse it out and condition normally. It gives even my dark hair a really nice red color (Mine is a cherry cola color though, I don't know how it will work if you want a brighter red)

Alright thanks ladies! I will definitely look into these methods.
