What is the best way to make hair shiny without it looking oily? I have long dark hair and have tried everything to bring out shine.. even not using conditioner except on the ends. My hair still gets oily at the roots and dry looking through the rest..I need perfect hair for a very special occasion and am running out of ideas.. please help me! lol

When you are in the shower, do your final hair rinse with icy cold water, as cold as you can possibly stand it! It closes the hair shaft so that it is smooth enough to reflect light and appear really shiny, and it really works! I have also heard that a vinegar rinse is supposed to really make your hair shine, but I have never tried it because i hate the way vinegar smells.

I hate the way vinegar smells but ive used it before and really helps also have you tried a clear gloss? i use one from time to time when my hair has lost its shine! also you might need to use a clarifying shampoo it might help cleanse your hair all the way through and ger rid of any product build up!

@Jennie, I have tried the clear gloss but I heard that it is bad for your hair, it does work but I dye my hair brown and I think it strips the color out of my hair..But I will try a claifying shampoo! Any suggestions?
