You can never go wrong with a smoky eye! It would look awesome with your hair color!

If your hair will be down, make sure to check the weather outside on the day of your shoot to factor in wind/rain/snow. As nice as it may look to have the wind blowing in your hair in the perfect photo, that same hair will mess up 20+ photos if it's whipping around in the wind. It can waste your money if it's interfering with the time you are paying your photographer for, especially if it's not a manageable style for the day. Just something to keep in mind. =)

Engagement photos should be the best representation of you and your fiance. The makeup should enhance what you have, but not be so out of the norm that you are barely recognizable. Don't forget to go a bit darker with makeup application since sunlight can wash out your face just as bad as a camera flash going off, and have fun with it.  =D

Because your hair is dyed a wonderful shade of red, I wouldn't go too bold with makeup. I think shades of brown or a bronze on the eyes would look quite nice, especially for an outdoor shoot. But really, you want to make sure that your makeup makes you look like a perfect couple. You don't want to go - for example - all glammed up for a nightclub while he's there ready for the beach.

Outfit ideas. Hmm. I think the best thing is casual or dressy-casual at most. It's a way that you can match your fiance without looking really cheesy.

Idea 1) Jeans and knitted, chunky sweaters.

Idea 2) Him: black trousers, formal shirt with rolled sleeves. You: black dress.

Idea 3) Things that you'd usually wear. It's a realistic representation of your life together.

Avoid matching colours! It looks tacky. Believe me. Unless it's black - but I doubt that's what you're going for. Can you imagine looking back at the photographs of the two of you wearing matching green jumpsuits? Awkward.

If you're going to have a change of outfit, bring a change of lipstick. Such a simple thing can make such a difference!

For nails, I think a solid cream/nude colour would do the trick. I mean, the focus on your hands is the ring, not your nails. :)

The final thing to do is to ask your fiance for his advice. I'm sure he'd have some kind of idea of what he'd like you to look like. :) Congratulations and have fun with it!

I vote very natural ! I would use a medium-toned brown and smoke it in my crease with a very neutral wash of color over the lid, this usually brings out any eye color, but you should do any color that you think would enhance your eye color for the photo !

For cheeks I would do a kind of mid-red lightly washed on the apples and cheek bones, with a subtle highlight, maybe benefit highbeam? Paired with a slight contour... now if you don't need very much coverage, I wouldn't suggest foundation, but more a tinted moisturizer, and then a light dust of powder to set !

A pink lip is paired nicely with this, like a rose color that touches on the mauve side of pink !

Good luck, and congratulations !
