I have long, thick, & wavy hair & it seems like whenever I use the same shampoos & conditioners for a long period of time, my hair starts to build up this like.. Film? I really don't know how to explain it. It doesn't become greasy but it starts to feel as if I'm not rinsing it out well enough although I am. My hair is also frizzy & doesn't react well to heat or most hair products I've tried. Any suggestions for a better hair day would be helpful. :)

I know sulfates aren't good for your hair, but I adore all of the bath and body works shampoos and conditioners!!! They don't leave any residue AT ALL and are really just amazing quality! And they're quite affordable! They're quite literally the best shampoos and such I've ever used. I switch between that and cheapo shampoos. If I could, I would use the B&BW all the time alongside Sulfate free shampoo, but I'm not well off in the money department... lol Here's the link. :D http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=4191831&cm_sp=LN-_-Body+Wash+%26+Shower+Gel-_-Shampoo+%26+Conditioner&cp=4090259.4090258.4090268.4414422 Seriously, all of these are fantastic. Especially the volumizing ones. ^.^

Cyanide: The situation you have can happen with a prolonged use of the same shampoo and conditioners. Buy a few good quality shampoos not from a drug store ( i suggest you get Fekkai apple cider shampoo http://www.fekkai.com/products/apple-cider/apple-cider-clarifying-shampoo) to get the residue out of your hair first, then alternate between shampoos for the maximum benefit. I have a feeling that the residue you get are not only caused by your shampoo but also the styling products you might be using. Look at the ingredients list of your styling products and see if you see "silicon" listed on any of them.
This one ingredient can cause your problem. Hope it help, good luck.

Try using Shampure shampoo and conditioner by aveda about once a week and smooth infusion shampoo and conditioner by aveda every other time you wash your hair. I am a hairstylist at an Aveda salon and our products are all naturally derived.

There is a shampoo by Neutrogena that really cleans deeply and prevents residue. It works greats and really cleans everything out! I personally don't ever use conditioner because it stays in my hair and weighs it down! Also, watch the styling products that you are using, and try and prevent putting it in your scalp too much!

I really like the Organix line of shampoos and conditioners but I just watched a short tidbit on the style network the other day that basically said all conditioners have the same ingredients so you don't need to splurge on it unless you have specific hair needs! I went into Rite Aid and purchased the V05 conditioner for $1 as opposed to Oragnix which is $7 and after looking at the back panel the ingredients are the same!
As for shampoo, there are chemicals that can dry out your hair so I did buy the Organix shampoo that was on clearance and got it for 3$ instead of 7$. The Neutrogena shampoo is actually really good, I just stopped using it due to cost.

The pantene pro-v for thick hair (the dry to moisturized one) does it for me (:

I like Joico... The gold one. I don't remember which one that is. Now I'm just using Finesse(the bf had it and now I actually like it.) and using Aussi's 3 minute miracle every 3 days or so. I also have long thick wavy hair but with fine strands and I realized I cannot condition my hair every day or time I wash my hair. My hair also gets wiry so I use the 3 minute miracle and my hair feels soooo good.

I have experienced the same thing you're talking about. Because of this, I try not to use the same products repeatedly. When an old shampoo runs out, I buy a completely different brand. I have been happy with the results so far. I think my favorite shampoo from the past year was Samy. I have thick/coarse long fairly straight hair.
