Hey you guys! well Im currently in
Beauty School, and I think I made a mistake...i really want to become a make up artist and in beauty school we don't even get more than 8 hrs off make up, it actually really upset me, as matter of fact i was teaching my educator a couple of things :( anyways... Im almost done with school, and i really want to become a Make Up Artist, any suggestions on how to start or get myself out there????

i know where your coming from. i went to cosmetology school and i dont even do hair right now. i work with makeup all the time. i would say just stick with it, cause it makes your resume look good by saying you have your license and went to school. to start yourself out there, make some buisness cards, give them to everyone you know. do some makeup work on your friends, family or anyone know you know. make a portfolio and start networking yourself. by doing this, you can promote your work and yourself :)

I agree with Megan, it looks good on your resume/portfolio. When people see you have that background they will know that you will follow hygienic/sanitary practices and will be gentle on clients. Also, if all else fails you can work at a salon with your license doing just makeup. Just build your portfolio, start a blog or website showing your work. Networking is important, business cards are a must. I hope this helps.
