What is Gel Nail Polish?

hey beauties-
i just got a gel manicure... i didnt really know what it was, but all i knew was that its supposed to make the polish last 2 weeks... can someone explain to me what exactly it is and why it was $30? haha thank you loves!

It's More Expensive because the bottle itself is like $15 and up also because it last longer so the salons loose some profit when you don't go for a touch up. That's what my friend said she works at a salon now where she charges $16 without acrylic or crystal gel tips included. It does work I do dishes 1-2 times a day along with other things that usually affect my nails, it stays on. But if your nails grow fast or your like me and get bored with the same color quickly I don't recommend it.

I actually just got my gel manicure removed and the woman was scrapping it off for like 10 mins!! it was such a pain to get off!!

@Steph M. did your manicurist let your nails soak in for about 10-15 minutes? sounds brutal

Gel polish also requires being cured with a UV light and is completely dry when the process is done.
