is having a twitter important to have? what are the do's and dont's? how do u create a name for a twitter?

The name you create for twitter goes along with your YT or blogger screenname if there is one. Also, its important for posting things, and networking with companies. If you want a twitter for personal reasons, its a glorified way to speak to oneself more or less....or follow brands to stay abreast of deals and steals, or your fave beauty gurus...also instead of texting one friend at a time, you can send a mass text. I have made connections with ppl, and companies via twitter....its also a level of privacy, so you don't have to send strangers emails, esp. if you want to "lock" your tweets.

Twitter is far from important - but it's wayyyy too fun. It's fun following your favorite musicians, comedians, brands, etc - You always get their latest updates for everything!

There really no "do's & don'ts" for Twitter - Everything goes! It's for your thoughts.

I'd only create a Twitter if you have internet on your phone and can post on the go- otherwise way too much work just to write a few words. Might as well just log onto Facebook if you're going to take the time.

I have it, but I BARELY use it! I don't use it to promote my blog as much as I do for shopping and staying up to date on coupon codes for my fav brands...

...OR hounding my fav. Makeup brands to restock on items I want. It's amazing what it can do for you, and purely up to you on how to use it! =]

The great thing about Twitter is that it can be used multiple ways and it's up to you how to use it. You can actively participate in conversations that you're interested in. OR you can use it as an active listening tool and set up lists that follow people who share news on your interests. OR do a little of both! How you choose to it can change as well but I think it's great for staying up to date on an array of subjects. :-)

PS - I'm a little bias since I work in social media though.. to justify, I found my way to Twitter due to a love of makeup + fashion :-p

Angela - you don't need internet on your phone to post. Twitter gives you a number to text to it & they can send your @ replies to your phone as a text message. :)

I think it important to have twitter, because then you friends from the other side of the world would still be able to follow you. Beside that you can follow what other people are doing and what is on their mind. ;)

Plus, it kinda cures boredom.

I've gotten closer to the "big" Youtube people because of Twitter and made lovely new friends. It helps with YouTube! I wouldn't be where I am now if I didn't have Twitter.
