Acne is caused by any numerous things including hormones, washing habits and even genetics. Somethings that look like acne may not be acne. If you have really bad acne best thing to do is to see a doctor to make sure it is acne and not something else as it may require a prescription to help clear up the acne.

OTC stuff you can try is a hydrogen peroxide/water toner. Mix 1 part hydrogen peroxide with 1 part water and apply with a cotton swab at least twice a day. If it's normal acne then the hydrogen peroxide, an antiseptic, will help with the infection portion of the acne. I don't recommend straight hydrogen peroxide simply because even at 3% it's a little strong to use straight on the face.

You can also try using a raw unpasteurized honey mask. You can get raw unpasterurized honey at any health food store. Mix 1 tablespoon with 1 tablespoon of plain Greek yogurt (it's thicker than normal yogurt) and apply that to your face and allow it sit for 15 minutes then wash off with warm water. Honey in it's raw and natural state (not pasteurized since that kills off the benefits) is a natural antiseptic and antibacterial food. You can even do a honey and lemon mask by mixing honey with a 1 tsp of lemon juice (from a lemon not the bottle). I wouldn't recommend the honey mask more than twice a week.

DO NOT POP!!!! I would suggest going to your Dermatologist! Also, try Murad. They have the most incredible products! And then, once you have it under control, just wash your face with normal face wash. There are no simple tricks besides this one: consistency. You will never get anywhere without breaking bad habits, creating new good ones, and keeping them up. :)
