Hello :)
I'm new here, but hope to start becoming more involved with things that I have always had a passion for..such as make up lol (New years revolution) But back to my question. Are any of you ladies beauty advisor's at a Macys or Sephora ect..? I got a interview for the position and not sure if I should throw together a portfolio or what I should expect should I be hired. I'm really nervous, but excited that I was actually considered; it's a big step towards one of my goals. PLEASE HELP Lol Thank you all

Congrats on the interview, Veronica!!! I'm after my first counter job too so I am interested to hear what others have to say about this. :) I would say if you put together a portfolio it may put you above your competition. I think it shows you have gone the extra mile if it isn't required. It definitely wouldn't hurt.

Hi Jeanine !
Thank you so much. It's nice to know I'm not the only one curious too. Lol I would like to see what others say and their views on it. I don't wanna over do it or most definitely don't want to look or be under qualified.

I'm a beauty advisor at Boots the chemist in England. I'm a trained (not qualified) hairdresser and beauty therapist, and cosmetics and beauty are my hobby also. I find in life, as long as you work safely, and are completely honest about your skill level, but have enthusiasm and determination, then whatever you want to do, you will succeed in. Qualify when appropriate, have an end result in mind, always stay open to well learned advice and listen 50% more than you talk and you'll be a hit! Good luck x

Hi there!! I was a beauty advisor for Boots in the USA and a prestige consultant at Ulta. I did not need a portfolio for either position. They just asked me basic questions about makeup and why I want to work for this company.
