Great tip, Erika. I always hang on to my glass candle holders and try to find ways to reuse them. I have several (with lids) that hold bath salts, bath beads and milk bath powders.

Thanks everyone :). Glad I was of help
@Ashley - with this particar jar I ran it under cold water till the wax lifted on it's own. I used a Brillo for the bit of wax residue that was left behind.

@Erika - there's a trick to that. After freezing as much wax you you can "boil" the jar in a deep dish bowl in hot water. Make sure the jar is warmed up first under normal hot water otherwise it may shatter. Put the jar in the deep dish and cover with scalding hot water (boil water first and let cool down a bit). You might have to weigh down the jar with some marbles or rocks. Make sure you have an inch of water over the jar so the wax melts and floats to the top. Allow the water to cool. Once cool the wax will remain at the top and will have hardened up. Take your jar out and it should be clean as a whistle with little, if any, wax residue. If there is wax residue simply take an old t-shirt straight from a very hot dryer so the cloth is hot and wipe off excess wax. I don't recommend a hot wet towel or washcloth since it won't be hot enough.
