Hi, beautiful people! I visit this site often, so I figured I might as well sign up. I love dramatic eye-makeup and false lashes. :o) I'm a belly dancer who likes to match her eyeshadow to her costumes.

I luv bellydance, weird but I certantly do the most beautyful dance ever...
anyways because is stage makeup you have to over make it, so it shows between the lights and the dance itself, I did some arabic makeup looks <3
and Its really nice to see matching makeup, but not necesarily have to be the same, like for instance if your costume is green and has some other kind of color you can pull that off, and go with that, or tell me what you like and I can try to help more :X
BTW do u have any costume photos, would love to see them :X

Thanks! I'm fairly obsessed with belly dance & everything that goes with it: music, costumes, makeup, Egypt, Turkey, Arabic, Turkish, workshops, festivals, other dancers. . . I don't ALWAYS do matchy-matchy, but sometimes it works. A lot of the time, I use really heavy black shadow. Glitter is also important. :o)
I love the Arabic-inspired makeup tutorials! Will have to check yours out.
I will post a belly dance photo here for ya!

thats gorgeous, and you see you can play with colors and everything, glitter goes great for bellydance gives that extra exotic thing out :D
and yeah i got into bellydance cuz as a kid used to hear a lot of Shakira, and I enjoy everything from tribal style to turkish or egyption, cabaret is really ejoyable <3
and if you would like me to help you out with makeup just tell, i'll be glad to do it for ya <3
I mean I'm not the best makeup maker, but I sure enjoy making it <3

I think of morrocan colors. Rosey blush, bronzer and the eyes should look cleopatra-ish.

I love to do a Cleopatra-ish eye. Sometimes it's hit-or-miss though! And a bronzer with some sparkle. MAC makes a nice one.
Thanks, Antonio. I actually have a photo shoot coming up. I need some make up that goes with a very colorful outfit AND a turquoise/brown/leopard costume.

I made a turquoise look a while ago when I was starting, and I gotta say I love for bellydance a bold, strong, heavy liner :)

I took a belly dance class a few years ago, and I loved it! I'm ESPECIALLY a sucker for tribal style... and some of my favorites are the original Indigo Girls! Some of my favs are Sharon Kihara, Rachel Brice, and Zoe Jakes... I've been wanting to costume something like what they wear for Halloween for years, but never got around to collecting enough of the doo-dads needed. Here's some vids to help inspire:

Bellydance is not always "Arabic" - and spans across so many different cultures! I especially loved The Indigo since they brought tribal/goth to the scene, and it's so beautiful!

I know and every style is unique...
so many to choose from, I get goosebumps to even think about bellydance, my fav tribal fusion bellydancer is Rachel Brice and Sharon Kihara, I luv Jillina and Ansuya :X

^Yay! Nice to find someone else that is a fan! It's so crazy to see how each culture interprets belly dance... and man, oh man... one thing doesn't change: Across each culture, there's a whole lotta' hip shaking! It's universal!  XD

hahaha yeah, is so I dunno how to put it, like all different bellydance styles out there, like the fusion with tango or you know that kinda stuff, and still hips rock 0_0
I've never been into a performance, but I would love to see one live <3
I am pretty much a luver of bellydance is so I don't even have words, just cought my eye since I was like 10 y/o I'm a freak hahaha lol

It's so nice to hear from people who don't belly dance but are interested in it. Antonio, you should definitely go to a performance. Here is some information about belly dance in Utah: http://www.utahbellydance.com/ Check out your local Moroccan and Turkish restaurants on a Friday or Saturday, or better yet, when a big name dancer comes to your city for workshops, go to the show! <3

thanx Imma try to do it, cuz bellydance is something I have deep inside my heart <3
thanx for posting this luv it <3 and keep in touch :)

All in all, it’s your face and your rules! Be you, always. Try different colors and techniques and go with what best suits your personality and attitude. There are a great many styles of belly dance. It is natural that any form of dance that has lasted as long as belly dancing would evolve into a lot of different styles. Here's the system to help anyone learn belly dancing from home with over 8 hours, 50 Video Lessons. http://dld.bz/bellydancingtricks.
