If you are not using Tressa Watercolors shampoo you NEED to get it. I'm a self made redhead, using Ion 6IR-66.66 and I love the deep red my hair is now. I used to have to touch up not only my new growth but also freshen up the length of my hair every 6 weeks because of how quickly red hair fades. I've been using Tressa Watercolors for about 3 months and when it comes time for a touch up I only have to apply color to the new growth because the rest of my hair is just as vibrant as when I initially colored it. The consistency is gel-like (think fake blood...ick) and it is a tinted shampoo so I'd recommend either using gloves or using it on a day that you are changing your polish because it can stain your nails. I leave the lather in for about 4 minutes, rinse well then condition my hair. If my hair didn't grow I'd never have to color it again because this shampoo is just that good at keeping my red hair vibrant.

gah i wish i had your dedication maria! i've been auburn on & off for years. that shampoo just seems a bit too high maintenance for me. i just let it fade until i redye it. so major props to you!
now, i am going to a manic panic red soon. so i know i'm going to have to do a lot more upkeep on it. is it just for darker red or would it work for like BAM in yo face red? haha.

High maintenance is so right. But I love the red so much I'm willing to keep up with it. They have several different shades of the shampoo, (not just for reds either) all you need to do is read the description for each one and match it up to what your color is. I use the Fluid Fire one.

This sounds so interesting! I've been a redhead for a long time (off and on) and I'm going to dye my hair a deep cherry red very soon. I'll have to try this out! Thanks so much for the tip Maria!

Jasmine...you're going to like that shampoo...super nice. Not so nice on a fresh manicure, but I kid you not, if my hair didn't grow I wouldn't have to apply any new color at all. Love, love, love this stuff.
