okay, before a lot of you bomb your pants, i know the general idea of what it is! :p after googling a bit, i know they sell discounted MAC makeup that's usually discontinued. i read somewhere that it's generally 30% off, but then again, i read a lot of things on the internet!

but what else do they sell?! i'm totally clueless as to this! :O

i know there's one in my state, but it's probably a hour & a half+ away. my guess would be, i'll save up like $200 & plan a trip south. i own no MAC nor do i really follow their LE lines & such too much, so i wouldn't DIE if i found the ____ from the ____ collection. so unless they had a color from the core collection i've heard of (i want sketch for some reason), i'd just be buying products i want to try or shades that look pretty.

any info/advice/tips for first time shopping would be greatly appreciated!

It's in Canada and their shipping prices are EXPENSIVE.

okay, a CCO (Cosmetic Company Outlet) is pretty much an discount store for makeup. What happens is when a company has too much inventory or the products just aren't selling as fast as they should, they send the products to a CCO to get rid of it. It doesn't necessarily mean that they sell MAC products but I know most do because it's such a coveted brand. Typically, they sell MAC for 30% off but I've heard of some CCO's selling it for 40% off.

I visited a CCO in Orlando during the summer. Just to give you an idea, I bought two regular collection MAC shadows for $10.50 each (normally they are $14.50 at a MAC counter). I also bought an eyeshadow from the Venomous Villians collection which was $11.50 (just because it's limited edition.) And then I bought a glitter for $14.50.

They should carry other brands as well. The one in Orlando mainly had Lancome, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Laura Mercier, and some NARS. They also carried perfumes and skin care products and even makeup brushes. Honestly I think it all depends on which CCO you visit. It could definitely vary depending on location. I believe they also don't just carry older products, sometimes you can find the same product at a regular store in a CCO.

Advice? Uh, Kind of know what you are looking for because you'll probably just splurge on items that aren't worth it. Check the packaging! One of the MAC shadows I purchased was empty when I got home, luckily I was still in town to exchange it.

I hope I helped a bit :)

So it's in the US as well? The website I was at was based in Canada and like I mentioned the shipping is EXPENSIVE. My $10 order was going to end up being nearly $30 after shipping! So not worth it.

I <3 the cosmetic company store! It's usually found in outlet strip malls and it Is the este lauder brands outlet store. They have MAC, clinique, Bobbi Brown, etc. The selection varies by location. You will find some discontinued items and some items that are still in store. As mentioned by Alyssa MAC eye shadows are usually 10.50-12.50, pigments are usually 14.50, mascara is usually 10ish.

yasmin; from what i understand, they actually don't have a website, only stores.

alyssa & abigail; thank you! i was sort of guessing they sold more estee lauder brands, but since it's almost impossible to find anything about these stores on the web.

& ohmygosh alyssa, i can't believe the eyeshadow wasn't in there! see that's the luck i have, except when i got home, none of my products would be in there, hah! i'll definitely remember that! i know that i need atleast one MAC blush & eyeshadow in my life before i die.

Alyssa did a fantastic job of breaking it down for you! I would suggest you know what you're looking for, because I do agree that a visit can be disappointing sometimes, and you end up buying things you don't need. I've been really lucky to find two MAC 165 brushes almost two years after the collection ended and I've been really unlucky to find absolutely nothing sometimes.

They don't have websites, but you can always call ahead to ask what they have. They're usually really friendly when going about letting you know what's in stock.

The lovely ladies of www.spectra.net update their forums with what their local CCOs have. Check it out!
