That's really surprising! You paid for the kit but can't take it out of school? Is it yours to keep after the class?
Do they give you at-home practice assignments?
I would use that as a point; how can you enhance your skill and practice at home and on friends if you don't have the adequate products? The reason I ask is that our program lets students take the kits home as it is imperative they are practicing at every free moment.
My guess is that they have had issues in the past with people not bringing in their kits on a regular basis, so they've restricted everyone.
Good luck!

I know that seems boring, but I am still jealous of you being in a program... ;) One day...I work as a massage therapist so I am working while all the local programs are in session. What kind of class is this, cosmetology or just makeup? Sounds interesting! But I don't get how if it is your kit you cannot take it home. Maybe you will be able to when the actual makeup assignments come?

@Andrew, that sounds crazy! I would think you would be able to do whatever you want to do with the kit being you paid for the kit.You should be able to take the kit home so you can practice on others and what not.
