So I'm thinking of getting new lightning for makeup and one of those huge 7X mirrors or whatever, but I dunno where or what to get, any advice for a dumb guy?

I know http://www.vanitygirlhollywood.com/ have a lovely selection of mirrors and lighting that are perfect for makeup. It does seem a bit pricey but they look so awesome.
I have also heard people going to Ikea and purchasing everything separate such as the large mirror and side lights. I hope that helped you out a bit. :)

Check out these videos, because lighting doesn't have to be so expensive if you have the right space and tools.

Also quite a few gurus admit to using natural lighting but that's a tough one to control. Lol. I'm not a pro at this, and am still trying to figure out the best set up for my own recording/filming area with good lighting and such, but I've gotten quite a bit of inspiration from their rooms. Notice how Tiffany and Leesha both have a fluorescent light over their camera stand? I got one but it really makes me look washed out so I have to keep tweaking my space a bit. Hope those help!

You should get a 10x mirror! Well, my preference. It's super crazy haha. But if you like 7x then go for it! You can get them anywhere! You can go to Target or Walmart if you're looking for something cheap or within budget. I know Brookestone carries mirrors and lights, but they're pricey.
