I haven't purchased much makeup since i stopped working - so i've been on an extremely tight budget.. and i was wondering are there any drugstore products worth looking into?

like foundations, concealers, blushes, lippies?

i heard a lot about the neutrogena healthy skin liquid foundation.. but anything else worth looking into?

looking forward to hearing from you all! :)

I can totally understand what it's like to be on a tight budget. A year ago my husband redid our household budget and my beauty bucks were just pennies. So I took to finding great products that wouldn't blow my budget. I'm very particular about my foundation, so I can't suggest any inexpensive foundations. But I can tell you to check out ELF (my Target has some of their products and you can find them online too) and NYX (I buy most of my NYX products at Ulta). NYX has my favorite lippies, for example, their cream matte lip colors are so fantastically pigmented and creamy. And I love ELF's cream liners and they are $3 a piece.

I've not tried any of the Maybelline Fit Me products, but I've read some great reviews on them.

Hope that helps you out a bit.

I am in love with the Maybelline Fit Me powders! I am 310, and even though its a little darker than my skin color, it makes my face/neck tan looking. It doesn't cake on and its not expensive. It's definitely a product worth buying!

For foundation you most def need to check out Revlon Colorstay! For concealer Hard Candy Glamoflauge is pretty awesome. For blushes you can check out Milani Baked Blushes (I do not have any, but I hear they're awesome). For lip stuff, Revlon has some great stuff. For eye stuff, Wet 'n Wild is pretty awesome!!!

E.L.F. is pretty good too, but some products are a hit or miss... mostly miss for me. =\

For skincare, CeraVe is an awesome skin care line! That with a little bit of benzo peroxide, and you're skin can be flawless! (Helped cure my cystic - adult acne). If you don't have problematic skin, all the better... CeraVe is very gentle! Department store power for drug store price!!! (This line doesn't have any acne fighting ingredients, so if you do have problem skin -- over the counter benzo peroxide is also another good investment.)

N.Y.C. also has some pretty cheap products. I haven't used a lot of them but I have their bronzer and it's my favorite!

I think drugstore mascaras are probably the best investment, because most of them are very comparable to high-end mascaras. My favorite drugstore mascara as of right now is the Maybelline one by one. Great mascara for no clumps (:

I absolutely adore Maybelline Full 'N Soft waterproof mascara in Very Black! It is so fabulous--leaves lashes long and flexiblly soft. I have super short, thin lashes. Here's a pic from my review of it so you can see it in action ;) This is JUST the mascara, nothing else.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer which Is pretty much just a TM, Physicians Formula's Conceal RX concealer, Covergirl makes some quality blushes, Revlon's Photoready finishing powder is a good alternative to MUFE HD Powder. I also loved all Maybelline foundations for the most part. If I had to pick one drugstore brand to use, it would be Maybelline.

i wasn't talking about the healthy skin enhancer - but the healthy skin liquid makeup (i guess theres 2 different ones) but i absolutely love it so far :)

i actually just featured a tutorial using all drugstore products :D most of which i just picked up recently :)

thanks everyone for ur input!!

the only drug store brands i use are korean or japanese.
to be specific Skin Food (korean - love their masks & gel masks :D) and kanebo Naive (japanese) they have great make up remover oils & water/lotion based removers.

@Khristine Yes there are. If you only were needing sheer coverage I would recommend it, plus it has SPF, retinol, and is oil free. Its amaze-balls.= p

Also I recently bought some eye products from the L'Oreal HIP line and I LOVE them. I got an eyeshadow and a liner and they are both extremely pigmented and go on so smoothly. I usually don't buy from them because they test on animals, but I needed some products for Halloween that were cheap and I'm extremely impressed.

Physicians Formula 2-in-1 lash boosting eyeliner + serum
works great as eyeliner and is supposed to help growing your lashes I luv it, and the aplicator is amazing.
BTW I recently bought ecotools brushes and they are quite nice gotta say :)

I love everything Revlon, especially their lipsticks.. you seriously cannot go wrong buying Revlon.. they make amazing products!

I love the neutrogena healthy skin makeup - love love love. Other things I think are absolute gems:
1. hard candy glamoflauge
2. milani blushes (baked or regular)
3. Maybelline master drama eyeliner

4. Wet n Wild Eyeshadows
5. Revlon lippies

the best things i bought at a drugstore would be:

nyc sunny bronzing powder - it's matte and really blendable
physicians formula shimmer strips in sunset strip - you can use it as eyeshadows/ highlighter and a bronzer.
rimmer lipstick in vintage pink
loreal voluminous mascara
for foundation i recommend revlon colorstay.

and the last thing hmm... i wet n wild cream eyeliner in black, it works better then the mac fluid line in black track =)

Foundations ~ Either Revlon Colorstay or Maybelline Fit Me.

Lippies ~ I like the Revlon Colorburst lippies. I also like wet'n'wild's 99¢ ones.

Mascara ~ Maybelline Great Lash (I prefer the Big wand) or, one that's becoming my new favourite since I recently bought it, L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black.

NYC sunny bronzer, Revlon colorstay foundations, ooh and HardCandy makes some good blushes - the new "fox in a box" ones, really good payoff and cute packaging...their concealer isn't half bad either - the "glamoflauge" ..it's SUPER pigmented.
