So there are definitely arguments out there about Retinol and whether or not it's a good anti-aging ingredient. I used Retin-A for my acne (didn't do jack), but remembered a plastic surgeon that my mom worked for recommending it to her for fine lines. Now that I'm starting to see those little buggers around my eyes a bit and on my forehead so I wanted to experiment with it for myself. I went to CVS and compared all of the brands that contained Retinol (Roc, CVS, Oil of Olay, etc).

Turns out, CVS brand's Deep Wrinkle has the ingredient highest up on the list and it's the cheapest! Total win-win!!

I LOVE what its done for my skin. The little lines I had are literally disappearing and it's only been a week!

So for $13 and some change (it's on sale) I would definitely pick some up and add it to your regimine. Seriously, why didn't I do this earlier?!?!... Just wanted to share : )

Good tip....have you noticed any difference in pore size? I'm getting ready to purchase Help Me by Philosophy (most of my skin care is by Philosophy) because it is a nighttime retinol, but if I can save some money using this product you suggested then that means I have more money for LIPGLOSS. :-)

Thanks for sharing! I've actually had the Olay serum on my list to try out...I may get the CVS brand though since its cheaper =)

I'm glad it works for you. My derm said that none of the OTC products have enough retinol to even make a difference though. So, I try to stay away from them since I know he'll give me a RX for retinol when I need it. I, too had a bad experience with retin a for acne but I was on too strong a dose. I swtiched to differin which is pretty much the same thing at a lower dose and it did wonders for me.

@ Maria- As for pore size, nothing I've ever tried has done much, even this apparently (I just went an examined them!!). I heard that there's really nothing out there that can actually shrink pore size, you can just keep your skin super clean and use products like primer to make them less noticeable.

@ Courtney- I'm so jealous! I don't have dermatology coverage right now so I can't get a prescription retinol. I've been using my lotion 3x per day to maximize the results though! (I do the same thing for my hyperpigmentation serum because I can only get the half stregnth over the counter stuff) lol.. not quite the same but I can say I really DO see a difference.

November's issue of Glamour containted the article "Meet the Rock-Star Dermatologists: LA Edition." Guess what Beverly Hills doc Boris Zaks recommends??? That's right.... Roc Retinol Deep Wrinkle Night Cream! I bought the generic but it has the same stuff in it : )

I'm telling you ladies- it's the best purchase I've made in loooong time! My skin is STILL improving.
