I LOVE my GHD flatiron. I've had it for five years and have never had a problem with it. It heats up quickly and straighten in one pass. I have thick curly hair so I usually go over it twice but it doesn't damage my hair at all. I just recently started using thermal protectant spray and that's just to increase shine. It's a great investment!

Revlon works well for me I bought it at Target for $50 I think it's the pearl addition. It heats up to 450 degrees and heats up quickly! I use it and it last me all week after one use!

I have to second that. I love my GhD for it's fast heating, auto shutoff after 30 min. Safety feature, and great design. At first, I was turned off it didn't have a temp setting, but I learned to control that by how fast I ran my hair through it.

Right now I'm using a Solia, which I love. I have also used a CHI and really loved that as well! If you want to go for a less expensive brand, Remington also some pretty good flat irons.

If you want a longlasting flatiron that you can rely on, it's gonna cost a bit more. But... you cannot go wrong with the original black CHI or the Babyliss. Just remember with any type of flatiron to use some sort of heat protectant on your before straightening your hair.

GHD is amazing, love mine. And I personally love moroccanoil for a heat protectant. It also does so many other things like protect against UVA and UVB rays, cuts drying time in half, conditions, shines, and pretty much saves your hair from everything. I loveeee it.
