In terms of content I say just dive into it and do looks that inspire you so that people get to see what kind of an artist you are. In terms of the technicalities of recording this might help: http://www.beautylish.com/a/vmsig/4-quick-tips-to-improving-your-videos

I just started too so my advice might not really count much but oh well. =]
Start with what you know. Every Day Makeup tutorials are always a hit.
People like quality. Usually if the sound is terrible and the video is blurry I tend to not watch. Try to film as high quality as you can.
Have fun. It's way more interesting to watch people who have personality.
Keep practicing. I know my first couple videos were really awkward. My last couple were only sort of awkward. My last video I actually felt comfortable. Don't get discourage and don't give up. Keep making more videos. You'll get the hang of it eventually.
I hope that helps!

Try to find unique tips and tricks that not many people would know. Find a good quality camera and good lighting, of course. I would suggest knowing what you're talking about. lol. For me, I'm more interested if the person has a positive personality and explains things well. Ex: don't just tell me something natural is good for my skin. explain why. what in it helps? like vitamins and such(:

Everything Liann H said and remeber to be yourself and let yourself show, it's much more intresting in watching someone who's loving what they are doing.
I would also say don't start whit the basics your always going to imrove in these types of things. Do crazy make up and some more calmer onces and just do what you wanna do :) maybe you later on do series about basics? :) when you get started? :)
